The Hoover Institution will host an event to discuss freedom of expression on U.S. college campuses. Hoover visiting fellow John Villasenor will present results from several recently released surveys of U.S. college students. For example, multiple surveys have found an alarmingly high rate of acceptance regarding the use of violence to silence speech deemed offensive. In addition, among many students there is a significant mismatch between the actual and perceived scope of protected expression under the First Amendment.

This event will include a discussion of the survey results, key takeaways, and ways to improve the climate for viewpoint diversity on U.S. campuses. The discussion will be moderated by National Review Senior Editor, Ramesh Ponnuru.
