CRN Applauds Efforts to Block Obama Administration’s Fiduciary Rule

WASHINGTON, DC – The Conservative Reform Network (CRN) applauds efforts in the House of Representatives to disapprove of the Department of Labor’s proposed fiduciary rule. The regulations, another example of executive overreach from the Obama administration, would restrict hard-working Americans’ access to sound financial advice as they plan and save for a secure retirement.

In response to House action, CRN Chief Strategy Officer Neil Bradley issued the following statement:

The Conservative Reform Network commends the House of Representatives for utilizing the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to take up a disapproval of the Department of Labor’s fiduciary rule. The misguided fiduciary rule will make it harder for millions of working- and middle-class Americans to plan and save for their retirement, so it is critical for the American people to know which of their elected representatives stand with the Obama administration’s overzealous bureaucrats and which stand with them.

As we near the end of the administration, the CRA will be a powerful tool to enable the next Congress and the next president to overturn the Obama administration’s midnight regulations. Utilizing the CRA now on the fiduciary rule is an important reminder of the powers Congress can utilize as they work to hold the administration accountable.
